Creative Poetry Writing
Tuesdays  7pm to 9pm
7 wks—April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27
$100 member/$120non member
This is a workshop focusing on poetry and
prose poetry for writers beyond the
beginner’s stage. We will focus on
streamlining the student’s poetry into a
style that will allow readers an experience
of continuity from poem to poem. This will
also allow the poet more focus as he/she
narrows choice of subject matter and
aspects of style, i.e., line, narrative, lyric,
etc. We will learn from each other how to
transform our raw material (and our
experiences) into crafted poems and very
short pieces of prose. Some reading of
contemporary poetry will also be involved.
Tom Tooley
Tom ‘retired’ to South
Bend in 2001 in order to
pursue his passion for
wildlife, landscape and pet
portrait painting.  He is an
award winning artist with
years of experience as a
commercial, custom mural
and scenic design artist,
Tom is skilled in many
mediums: oil, acrylic,
pastel, colored pencil and
watercolor to name a few.
Tom will help you choose
the best medium for your
project and will guide you
through the entire process.

NY) and has taken workshops with Larry Blovitts, Joseph Fettingis, Phylliss Rhoads, Robert Hoffman and others. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with
his own students. Bob works in pastels, oils, acrylics and watercolor so he is comfortable with whatever media his students may choose to work.
