Life Drawing Open Studio     Adham Halsaver (monitor)
While not a formally instructed class, this open studio is an opportunity to draw from a nude model. Using the traditional approach to
figure drawing, the night begins with gestures and ends with a long pose. Participants may work in any medium including oil. All levels

The art of hand lettering isn't dead! Put aside the keyboard and put a 'tool' in your hands. Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing.
Students will begin working with a uniquely designed Parallel Pen to create the elegant letters known as Italic. Supply fee approx $20.

Everyone Can Learn to Draw     Leslie Straniero
This structured class will teach the essential skills needed to draw. Each class will have exercises related to a specific topic.
Exercises include line and gesture drawings, three different approaches to sight measuring as well as learning about line variation,
value, and ways to give work a three-dimensional quality. Handouts, demos, and looking at great art are all part of this class.
Working from life, you will improve your confidence and be less dependent on photos. This is a great class to take before painting.

learn from each other in the process of transforming the raw material of everyday life into well-crafted poetry, short stories or

Painting For Beginners Leslie Straniero, BFA
This structured class is designed for the ultimate beginner. The first class will discuss how to use the materials for oil painting.
Brushes, knives, mediums,
canvas will be discussed. There will be exercises on applying paint, mixing colors, value studies, and progress to copy a great master
painting. Students will learn how to paint simple forms -- box, cylinder, cone,sphere and then move on to a simple still life, time

People Painters Open Studio    
Join a group of passionate artists who love to paint people. The entire session is spent on the same pose with a clothed model
allowing plenty of time for a more complete study. The lighting, background, and pose are set up with great care. Some artists bring
lunch and stay for the whole day, other stay for half a day. Draw or paint in the medium of your choice. There is no instruction, but a
monitor is in class to keep it running smoothly. Please arrive ½ hour early so we can start on time at 9:30am and 1pm.

A portrait from life may be the richest subject to paint - from a technical, psychological, and practical standpoint. Designed for oil

Linoleum block printing is a cheap and easy way to make a genuine print that can be reproduced over and over. The process
requires cutting a picture into a linoleum block with special knives and then inking the block and printing the image on paper. This is
a low-tech class, but the principals are the same as with the most sophisticated printing.
