Anne Binder

Anne Binder purchased Studio Art Classes from painter, David Allen and sculptor,
Michael Slaski in September 2005. She has changed the name of the organization to
Studio Arts Center.

Anne is a calligrapher, papermaker, and book artist. Her work has been widely
exhibited throughout the United States and Canada. Her works are a part of both
private and public collections.

Creating art and facilitating others to create art is a very important part of Anne’s life.
She believes art is the pathway to peace. She encourages collaborations among
artists’ groups fostering interdisciplinary relationships. Her projects include a
collaboration of fifty-five artists offering their responses to the events of September 11.
Project Hope is a traveling exhibit that has toured throughout the United States and
Canada since November 2001.

Anne teaches on a local, national, and international level. She developed and taught
accredited classes in the lettering and book arts at Bethel College, Mishawaka,
Indiana. She travels to calligraphic guilds and artist societies to teach classes on
letterforms, the book arts, and painting techniques.

Anne’s home is affectionately known throughout the international calligraphic
community as “Calligraphy Central”. She lives in South Bend, Indiana with her husband
